Cristal Rose Brut 1988

Cristal Rose

Cristal Rose is supremely fragile and difficult to produce, due to the unpredictable evolution of the pink color from the time of bottling to marketing some six or seven years later. At the House of Louis ROEDERERE, it is made according to the traditional skin-contact method by which the Pinot Noir grapes remain in contact with the must until fermentation begins. Only grapes fulfilling the twofold condition of perfect soundness and a certain degree of overripeness are selected to produce this wine of exceptional quality.

Cristal Rose is characterized by its salmony pink, formerly known as "ceil de perdrix" (partridge-eye pink). Its bouquet can be described as that of an especially mature wine, slightly more vinous than Cristal Brut, but full of finesse imparted by the Chardonnay. It is composed of 30% Chardonnay and 70% Pinot Noir. Cristal Rose offers exceptional balance along with richness fruit , and finesse
